LPACSC has offered to provide a wide range of help that will be valuable throughout the campaign.

This is the latest of several recent endorsements that include the Bernal Heights Democratic Club of San Francisco and Congressional Candidates for Peace 2012.

Below: some of Levitt's answers to the Latino PAC's questions - including how to pass a People's Budget, and how today's terror policies make us less safe.

What are the 3 most important issues in your campaign and why?
An exit from our Middle East wars solves many problems simultaneously, including saving hundreds of billions of dollars and protecting our troops.
* Medicare-for-All -- not for profit, single payer universal health care
* End Prohibition and the federal war on medical marijuana, which keeps millions of people of color in prison, making the US the leading prison state.
Our misguided current policies has a vast social and financial cost, rewarding elite insiders while punishing the poor.

What areas do you plan to focus on if you are elected?
In addition to ending the misguided, un-winnable Afghanistan and Drug wars, our Senate leaders need to demonstrate a sense of justice: that the “War on Terror” mustn’t be an excuse to violate our own Constitution. The threat of “terror” will recede only when the world sees we don’t tolerate kidnapping, torture or illegal spying -- not even when the victims are Muslims.

What is your position on the DREAM Act?
I strongly advocate the DREAM Act, and paths to citizenship for undocumented workers.

Please share your knowledge of the budget process and how you intend to address budget issues once elected.
In the US Senate, as elsewhere, a budget is a moral document. I understand “horse trading” but I’ll avoid its typical corruption: Democrats so eager to “compromise” the bullies get half of everyone’s lunch money. The expensive wars that aren’t making us any safer are also robbing us of resources for badly needed jobs at home and renewable infrastructure. This is one of those situations where doing the right thing also brings a trillion dollar reward. I’ll make that case to my colleagues in the Senate and House, cosponsor, and join Raul Grijalva and 80 Progressive Caucus members to finally pass the Peoples’ Budget in both chambers of Congress.
